   Mt. Manganui beach
With completely different weather to what we had 8 days ago here, we woke up to blue skies and sunshine with great views all around the mount. I went for a run around the base of the mount, then along the beach a short way, before we both walked up to the top which was superb.

   track around Mt. M
The weather was so good we spent the rest of the day around the beach - swimming in the sea, sun-bathing, reading, and attempting (pretty unsuccessfully) to do some crosswords.

The overview...
Mt. Manganui is worth going back to :) the weather was really bad when we first visited here, but we stopped again on our way back through to Whakatane, on a slight detour. This time the sun was shining and it looked superb. We had a relaxing beach day (after our usual active morning running and climbing the mount!), and swam in the sea - the water was a perfect temperature. The views around the mount and from the top were magnificent...it was a good thing we'd cleared Marcel's memory card the night before to make room for all the pictures :)
