Whakatane!

Here's the full story...!

Kohioawa Beach Sports: juggling, frisbee, tennis

On the way to Ricky & Anne's we stopped on Kohioawa Beach to use some of the equipment in my travelling sports car - tennis volleys, frisbee and juggling kept us amused until the frisbee unfortunately ended up in the sea...still, it was good fun while it lasted!

Kohi Point Walkway: Whakatane Beach, township, Whale Island

The Kohi Point Walkway provides beautiful views over Whakatane, and winds its way around the cliffs to Otarawairere (a scenic and peaceful shell beach) before reaching Ohope. The sands stretch from here for miles around East Cape...

The overview...

Okay...I know its been a while, but I've been having way too much fun to access e-mails and update my blog. Pausing to sleep in a real bed tonight in Whakatane (staying with Ricky & Anne - apart from one night here last week we've camped every night!). Since Derek left (Jan 18th) I met up with Marcel, and we've been exploring the north island, having some great adventures. We've been hiking, biking, running, kayaking, climbing, swimming, and believe it or not, relaxing, throughout Northlands, the Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and East Cape. Now we're heading off to the Taranaki area. Loads of new stories & pics to follow...:)
