Gav's place!

The overview...

It’s always fun and games with the Scots in Scott Street! I could write pages on the antics that go on at Gav’s place, but to sum it up, I always leave there with a smile on my face because it seems impossible not to have a good time. Gavin, Leask and Ross have a habit of creating fun, with or without money (more often than not its without), with or without alcohol (more often than not its with), and with or without anyone else being there.

There is never a dull moment, and always a happy atmosphere. Random visitors are always welcome. $2 outfits, Leask’s infamous cat and penguin poses, raw eggs, hairstyling in the back garden, guitar-playing (and burning), singing, barbeques, and the nicest landlords imaginable - just a few things that spring to mind.

The Bog – the favoured Irish bar that I was introduced to on day one in Christchurch, has had frequent visits, for the live music and of course to achieve VIP status (Gavin and Leask) with names engraved on the 100-pint board (Guinness only). Mickey Finn’s (where Ross works) is another Irish pub with a good atmosphere, and always fun for a competitive game of pool or two. Of course when the Brown family team up at the pool table we’re simply unstoppable, as many a challenger discovered one night in town. :)
