Sydney

I picked Patrick up from the Opera House (pretty classy meeting place!) on Saturday evening. We spent Sunday exploring the city and seeing all the tourist spots! Great day weather wise (again….I’ve been so lucky), we walked from the Harbour Bridge around the wharf area to the Opera House, and back through the Rocks and down to Diamond Harbour – the setting is beautiful. We reached Paddy’s Market (appropriate!) which was fun to see (although the Victorian Market is still a winner) and then walked back to the harbour bridge.

I went running through the botanical gardens which were superb, and explored a few more areas just going wherever my legs wanted to run! There were lots of nice paths through the Domain, via the art gallery and anzaz memorial, and back via the botanical gardens again. Then we walked up onto the Harbour Bridge and climbed the tower for views and a bit of history on the building of the bridge. It was really interesting, and the views were fantastic.

In the evening we went to a couple of pubs in The Rocks area, which is the oldest part of the city, and overlooks the harbour. It was a really fun day to start our adventure!
