Occasions to dress up!

Dad's retiral was last weekend at Balbirnie House Hotel - a mere 180 people were at the dinner/ceilidh and it was a really special evening. Ivan Brenkel and Arthur Espley (good friends of dad's from way back!) made very nice speeches and there was an amusing slideshow of pictures to match a few stories. Without going into detail, dad has obviously been extremely influential to numerous people in his 28 years working at Fife hospitals. I ended up with bruises on my arms from Orcadain Strip the Willow with Gav :)

Last night was the annual Tennis Scotland Awards Dinner in Stirling, and I was actually receiving Female Player of the Year award (slightly embarassing being read out after Jamie Murray getting Male Player of the Year but it wasn't my choice!) It was quite fun though, and a good excuse to wear something other than trackies and a cap for a change. Euan (one of the boys I coach) won the Miquel Award for commitment to the sport, and Emma (one of the girls I coach) won the Junior Female Player of the Year, so I'm proud of my little 'team'!

I was also at a course all weekend in Dunfermline - speed, agility & plyometrics for sport performance. It was really interesting - I enjoyed the theory & practical elements, as well as discussing different elements of coaching with various sports coaches.

Heading off to Portugal tomorrow with a squad of players for a training camp and then a European event. I come back and head straight to Switzerland for a week's skiing with mum, dad, Gav & Jen so can't wait for that. Back for 5 days working here and then off to France for another European event, so I'm pretty much living out of a bag for the next 5 weeks!
