Fee & Bernard's Wedding
What a GREAT weekend!! I went through to Kirkcaldy on Friday, and Fiona & I had a girly afternoon getting our nails done & having a giggle. We'd both had a spray tan on Thursday night so it just looked like we'd been in the Bahamas for six months or so...
On Saturday morning we played tennis (yes, the bride-to-be decided at 10am that it was a priority to improve her backhand before the wedding)... followed by getting our hair done. Richard got the train through, found the house ok, and managed to convince whoever answered the door that he'd been invited too ;)
Fiona was still in her trackies (calm as anything) when the 'party bus' arrived to collect us from her house (having got Bernard + family in Dunfermline) - she'd decided she didn't need any help with her dress but maybe I could help her pick which shoes to wear?! After introductions to Bernard's family, and a bit of gear-grinding on the country roads, we picked up the minister in Ceres on the way to the church in Boarhills! Douglas drove Fiona up (thankfully she was in her dress by then) and I had managed to convince Martha (Bernard's niece who was flower girl) that we'd have fun skipping down the aisle together.
The wedding ceremony was really nice - short & simple yet just right, with some attempted singing (or just lip-singing & giggling). It was beautiful weather outside (okay, a wee bit chilly) - after the pictures we all piled onto the party bus once more and made our way to Cupar for a meal at Ostler's Close. It was a fantastic dinner, with lots of small courses, and a different wine with each course (yeeeeha)... the food was amazing, and people just moved around switching seats & talking to everyone else throughout. After cutting the cake, we all went back to Douglas & Marion's house for another wee tipple & some cake. All in all, a brilliant day - thanks Fee & Bernard! (oh...and congratulations ;)
